The fair, held in Jaén, has established itself as an international benchmark for the olive sector

From today until Saturday April 13, the Provincial Fairs and Congress Center of Jaén (Ifeja) hosts the eighteenth edition of the International Fair of Olive Oil and Related Industries, the most important event worldwide for the olive sector .
Expoliva, which has grown exponentially since its inception, has managed to become a world reference for the sector. A pioneer fair in the world for being the only one in which each and every one of the productive processes involved in obtaining olive oil, from the field to the table, are present.
The data of this new edition are stratospheric, 40,000 square meters of exhibition, 326 exhibitors, 923 direct and indirect companies represented and 4,215 commercial brands. And in addition, this year will have the participation of 57 countries producing olive oil from five continents, something historic.

The trellis olive grove, key for olive growing
As a prelude to the celebration of the fair, the Dialogues Expoliva 2017 have taken place since the end of November, as well as activities and conferences carried out with the aim of seeking improvements and enhancing information on the olive sector.
In one of the last activities prior to the beginning of Expoliva, the results of the Caja Rural de Jaén report on the situation for international olive growing were presented, coordinated by the strategic consultant Juan Vilar, where the stability of current prices stands out, as well as the great growth that has occurred in the olive grove in espalier.
This type of olive grove has experienced a growth of almost 15% in one single campaign, approaching 500,000 hectares worldwide.
